While traveling in Tanzania with his family, Nicholas Little visited a medical facility. He recalls, “It transformed their lives and gave them greater hope for a better future, which inspired me to seek opportunities to help people, do good in my community, and become a global citizen.”
Witnessing underserved medical areas of Tanzania and South Africa solidified his desire to seek justice for the oppressed and become a medical professional. Nicholas, from Cokato, MN will attend St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN this fall where he will pursue degrees in pre-med and trumpet performance.
He says, “Learning the essential skills in these disciplines will help me become an innovator and provide many opportunities to look beyond myself and be a positive influence in the world.”
At Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato, Nicholas volunteers as the sound system coordinator, usher, greeter, and reader. He also is in the church choir, handbell choir, and leads the brass ensemble.
Nicholas says, “Thank you for your vote of confidence in my educational pursuits, and for entrusting me with this scholarship. I promise to commit to making a difference both today and in future tomorrows. Your generous support brings me one step closer to realizing my dreams, and for this I am so grateful!”
