Due to the massive scope of natural disasters, recovery often continues for months and years. Through research and collaboration with charities in affected areas, Thrivent Charitable works to distribute grant support through its Disaster Response & Resiliency Impact Fund. Past support
Hurricane Florence & Hurricane Michael
In 2018, donors gave $900,000 in relief donations for Hurricanes Florence and Michael, with donations matched by Thrivent.
California Wildfires
Individuals, churches and Thrivent provided over $1 million in relief for homes and buildings destroyed in the 2018 California Wildfires.
Lutheran World Relief
We distributed a grant in 2017 to LWR to assist with relief and reconstruction efforts in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Northern Haiti and Cuba.
